You could absolutely do this with a furuitnre top, and I think a black and white design would look stellar. Really dramatic! I would love to see pictures when you finish.My recommendations: Use primer first. Lay down the white paint after the primer, then tape out your design once the paint is dried to the manufacturer's recommendation. Use Living with Lindsay's trick that I borrowed to seal the tape (see the how to in this post), then paint on the black (a few coats). Be sure to peel off the tape when your final coat of black is still wet so you don't end up peeling off any paint with the tape. Best of luck!
